The Super Solano Professional hair dryer certainly belongs at the top of the range in styling tools. The standard features are impressive and really do a great job styling even the most difficult hair types. While I definitely wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, there are a few things you should know.

 

Designed and manufactured in Italy, this hair dryer appeared in the "Best of Buys" in the April 2006 issue of InStyle magazine. It is not difficult to see why it works well in hair dryer reviews. It is priced quite high but you get a lot for your money and you can be sure that you will get a `` professional '' salon design tool if you decide to buy it. Here are a few reasons why it was rated so highly.

 

First of all, any hair dryer that dries hair quickly and efficiently must have a great AC motor. The Super Solano comes with a 1,875-watt motor, larger than other dryers in its price class.

 

There are five heat settings and two speed settings and it has a cold fire button. Again, that scores well here. I've seen more expensive dryers that have a measly 2-temperature / 2-speed setup with no cool button.

 

You also get 2 concentrator nozzles; one in fiberglass and one in metal. As expected, it also has a removable and washable air filter.

 

The dryer is also very well balanced; the front side is not heavy when using the device. However, this brings us to the first small complaint I have; It is a little heavy, it weighs 3 pounds. Other comparable brands like the CHI ceramic hair dryer weigh half. If you already find that your current dryer is a little heavy, check how much it weighs; If it weighs less than 3 pounds, you will definitely find the Solano too heavy.

 

My only other complaint is that the dryer doesn't come with a diffuser. You can buy the diffuser separately, but when you're already paying a lot of money for a dryer, it would be nice if the diffuser was included.

 

However, these two points are quite minor. My overall review of the Super Solano hair dryer gives it top marks for build quality, functionality and most importantly styling results. It may have a high price, but it's worth every penny.
